Google Tez Payment App debuts !

Google Tez the all new payment app by Google was launched today at New Delhi by the Vice president of Google's Next Billion Users programme Caeser Sengupta in the presence of our finance minister Mr. Arun jaitely.

Google entered the crowded payment app segment of the Indian market which is ruled by Paytm. Google's Tez app is powered by UPI, the payments infrastructure built by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) which is very much similar to the Government's BHIM App.

Tez can be operated by the users in 7 different regional languages (Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, Telegu, Marathi, and Gujarati). You will not need any account number, bank IFSC code and such details. Your mobile number is your Virtual Payment Address (VPA), but you have to use the same number that is linked to your bank account.

Caeser Sengupta mentioned that Google will be adding up new features in future. It would be very interesting to see how Google slips into the very slim gap between all the existing competitors to make its own space. It is for sure that Google has magic up its sleeves to tackle the problem.
